Lovable Livings bags are made from EN 13432 and TÜV Austria compostability standards certified cornstarch and biopolymers. That means they’re designed to fully biodegrade under proper composting conditions, unlike traditional plastic and other biodegradable materials. They’re strong, thick and leak-proof, and created to reduce plastic waste.

Compostable bags are made from certified plant-based materials (like ours) that are designed to break down fully into non-toxic elements in proper composting conditions.

“Biodegradable” bags is a loose term. Many are still 60–80% regular plastic with additives. They often don’t fully break down and leaves behind microplastics, which is why we use certified compostable materials instead.

Most UK councils send dog waste bags to energy-from-waste incineration, not composting. Our compostable, plant-based bags are designed without conventional fossil plastics, so they burn cleaner than regular plastic or vague “biodegradable” bags, making them a better choice in real UK conditions, helping to dispel the myth that compostable bags are pointless if it is incinerated.

If you have a suitable home compost set-up and follow local guidelines, our bags can go in home compost (ideally used for non-edible plants).

If that’s not available, dispose of used bags in general waste or a dedicated dog waste bin as directed by your council.
